T-RETENSION

Winds a quarter inch cartridge (QIC) tape forward, then back to the beginning-of-tape (BOT) marker, so as to retain the tension in the tape.

Command Class

TCL-I command.

Restrictions

Only used with quarter inch cartridge tape drives.

Syntax

T-RETENSION {channel}

Syntax Elements

channel Optional. The channel to which the required tape units have been attached using the ASSIGN command. If omitted, the tape units attached to the default channel are used.

Comments

Before using T-RETENSION, you must attach the required tape units to the port.

It is recommended that you run T-RETENSION before:
