This topic describes the TCL commands used for operating magnetic tape units. It provides a summary of all available commands, grouped by category, describes precautions you should take when carrying out Reality tape procedures and discusses the attaching and detaching of tape units and the use of tape labels. It also provides detailed descriptions of the TCL tape commands.
For physical details specific to tape units on your system, refer to the documentation for your system.
A number of DataBasic statements allow data to be written to and read from tape, using the default tape channel.
Note: 1/2 inch tape units are not currently supported on Windows.
