CHECK

Checks a specified number of tape files on the default channel for parity errors.

CHECK {numberOfFiles}

Syntax Elements

numberOfFiles Optional. The number of tape files to check. The default is 1.

Prompt

If you do not specify n, you are prompted:

NUMBER OF FILES TO CHECK =

Restrictions

Executes on the default channel only.

Comments

Before using CHECK, you must attach the required tape units to the port using the default channel.

Example

NUMBER OF FILES TO CHECK = 2
T-CHKing file 1 It's OK
T-CHKing file 2 It's OK
All files checked out.
