Synonym Account Definition Item

A synonym account definition item, located in the SYSTEM Dictionary, enables a user to log on to an existing account using a different account name (synonym) and different security and operating characteristics from those of the primary account. The item-id of the Synonym Account Definition Item defines the synonym account name. It is a Q-pointer, so named because attribute 1 contains the letter 'Q'. Attribute 2 defines the primary account. The security and operating characteristics for the synonym account are defined in attributes 5 to 12.

Item Format

Attribute Description
Item-id Synonym Account Name.
  001 Q
  002 Name of account, the Master Dictionary of which is to be used by the synonym account.
  003 Null.
  004 Null.
  005 Retrieval lock codes.
  006 Update lock codes.
  007 Password, encrypted. Can be null. Changed using PASSWORD.
  008 Privilege level (default, SYS0).
  009 Can contain various combinations of the following codes:

BDisables the break key.

LLeft aligns the output.

RRuns the Account Logon Program on exit from the debugger.

TEnables the TCL-Inhibit Program.

UEnables the accounting history (ACC) file to be updated for the current user.

  010 Maximum width of report column (default = 10).
  011 Not used and reserved.
  012 Reserved for Transaction Logging.
