SSM Option 1 - Define Network Profiles
This option allows you to maintain network profiles for PLIds and partial PLIds. Network profiles are kept in the NETWORK system file under the SYSMAN account.
On selecting Option 1 on the SSM screen, the following screen is displayed.
N E T W O R K F I L E M A I N T E N A N C E -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLId ID > 0 Location Description : 1 CCI : 13 Type Ahead : 2 Logon Timeout : 14 Expedited Logon : 3 Logon Retries : 15 Split Basic Debugger : 4 Log Failed Attempts : 5 Hushed Logon : 6 Immediate Disconnect : 7 Passworded User Logon : 8 Terminal Type : 9 Inactivity Timeout : 10 Receipt of Messages : 11 Messages on Line 25 : 12 Field Read : Enter PLId. (or 'CR' to exit, '?' for list, 'D' for default or '*' for current)
There are common features of profiles screens that you can use to create, edit and delete profiles.
The following is an example of the screen displayed for the new PLId entry SLAN-56A9D3EE6B27-0426. The parameters shown are the default settings derived from the DEFAULT item in the NETWORK file.

Specifies the number of seconds the system waits at the logon prompt before disconnecting.
Prompt:
Number of seconds before disconnection from LOGON:
Enter a number in the range 0 to 5400 seconds (90 minutes). A value of 0 (zero) indicates no timeout (circuit is not disconnected). See also Note 2.
Specifies the number of unsuccessful logon attempts before a user is returned to the host operating system. Applies to interactive connections only.
Prompt:
Number of failed logon attempts before being locked out :
Enter a number in the range 0 to 32000. A value of 0 (zero) specifies infinite retries. See also Note 2.
Specifies whether to log failed logon attempts for security purposes. If enabled, each failed logon attempt is logged in the file SECURITY.EVENTS in the SYSMAN account.
Prompt:
Log the failed logon attempts ? (Y/N) :
Enter:
Y
Log failed logon attempts.
N
Do not log failed logon attempts.
Suppresses logon messages (banner and prompts) at logon and logoff.

Hush logon messages ? (Y/N):
Enter:
Y
Suppress logon messages.
N
Display logon messages.
Specifies that the circuit is to be disconnected immediately after log off.
Prompt:
Immediate Disconnect after logoff ? (Y/N):
Enter:
