Configuring Transaction Logging
This topic describes the procedures carried out from the tlmenu Configuration and Setup menu to configure Transaction Logging operation on a Reality database. They include procedures for:
- Configuring a Database for Transaction Logging.
- Starting Transaction Logging.
- Stopping Transaction Logging.
- Configuring the Transaction Logging Status Monitor.
The topic also includes a description of the TCL command TL-SET-LOG-STATUS, which you can use to set the logging status of individual files and accounts on a Transaction Logging database.
Overview
To use Transaction Logging on a particular database it must first be configured. This is carried out from the tlmenu Configuration and Setup menu, displayed by selecting option 2 on the main Administration Options menu. Refer to tlmenu for an overview.
At the Configuration and Setup menu, you must first select option 1 to define the database as a Transaction Logging database; then you can start logging by selecting option 2.
Each procedure, started by selecting a sub-menu option, comprises a sequence of message prompts to guide you through the process. Refer to Replies to Prompts for a description of the required responses.
