IMG.VERIFY

Verifies that one or more physical save tapes or tape images are readable.

Syntax

IMG.VERIFY

Restrictions

• IMG.VERIFY is only available in the SYSMAN and SYSPROG accounts.
• IMG.VERIFY may only be run by the database owner.
• Only one instance of IMG.VERIFY may be run at a time on a database. IMG.VERIFY cannot be run at the same time as any of the other physical save and restore commands Physical save commands: SAVE-IMAGE, realdump host command, IMG.VERIFY and VERIFY-IMAGE; Physical restore commands: IMG.LOAD, LOAD-IMAGE and realload host command. .

Comments

IMG.VERIFY uses the tape unit(s) currently attached to the default channel.

Procedure

1. Ensure that the tape is loaded and on-line, that the tape is write-protected, and you are logged on to SYSMAN or SYSPROG.

2. Use T-ATT or ASSIGN to attach the required tape units to the default channel.

   Note: If your backup was saved using multi-deck parallel save, you must attach the same number of tape units as used when saving. If you need more tapes than you have tape decks, you can use tape images as additional decks.

3. Enter at the TCL prompt:

   IMG.VERIFY

IMG.VERIFY now proceeds, as requested. If you have attached just one tape unit, you will be prompted to mount additional reels as necessary.
