Item Structure

An item is the structure that holds data in a Reality file. Items can be direct (in which the data is stored in the same frameas the header and item-id) or indirect (in which the data is stored in one or more separate frames).

An item consists of the following:

The maximum size of a Reality item depends on the amount of memory available to the user, but cannot exceed 2Gb.

Items are classified as 'Binary' or 'Character' oriented depending on the type of data they contain:
