ROUTE-FILE Listening Entries (UNIX-Connect Administration) (m603105+listen.htm)
You use the rcslisten command to enable the session manager to accept incoming calls for ROUTE-FILE listening entries. The rcslisten command must be used whenever a listening entry is added to or changed in the ROUTE-FILE.
The command has the following syntax:
rcslisten {-n}
[systemName || ALL]
- or -
rcslisten -s systemName
where
systemName Specifies a listening entry in the ROUTE-FILE.
ALL Specifies all the listening entries in the ROUTE-FILE.
-n Specifies that the session manager should stop listening on the specified listening entry. All incoming calls on this entry are rejected until such time as the session manager resumes listening.
If you use the ALL keyword instead of a system name, the session manager stops listening on all entries.
-s Displays the status of the specified listening entry:
systemName:listening
- or -
systemName:not listening
If neither the -n nor the -s option is used, the session manager starts listening for incoming calls on the specified listening entry or entries (in addition to its current listening activity). Note that if the ROUTE-FILE has been updated, the session manager first stops listening on specified entry or entries and then re-starts — any incoming calls during the stop/start interval are rejected.
If you have added a new listening entry to the ROUTE-FILE, or changed an existing entry, you can use the rcslisten command as follows so that the session manager will listen on the new or changed entry.
rcslisten ALL
