Overview

Recovery of a Transaction Logging database after a system or application has crashed is carried out from the tlmenu Database Recovery menu displayed by selecting option 3 on the main Administration Options menu. Refer to tlmenu for an overview.

The procedures executed from this menu are detailed in this topic. Each procedure, started by selecting a sub-menu option comprises a sequence of message prompts to guide you through the process. Refer to the topic Replies to Prompts for a description of the required responses.

Recovery is carried out in two stages. First you remake the database, and restore the last save onto it using option 1 on the Database Recovery menu, then you replay all changes logged since that save using menu option 2.
