Configuring Transaction Handling

Overview

To configure Transaction Processing on your system a raw log partition must be created and configured using the mklog command. Refer to the topic mklog - Making a Raw Log. This procedure is normally carried out at installation, so there should already be a raw log configured on your system. The procedure varies depending upon the host system being configured. If you wish to re-configure the raw log partition, contact your Northgate support representative for details.

Once a raw log is configured on your system, you should use tlmenu to configure a database for Transaction Handling.

Note: tlmenu is also used to administer Transaction Logging, Rapid Recovery, Shadow Database and Failsafe.

To configure Transaction Handling, first select option 2 - Configuration and Setup on the tlmenu main Administration Options menu. This displays the Configuration and Setup menu.

Each procedure, started by selecting a sub-menu option, comprises a sequence of message prompts to guide you through the process. Refer to Replies to Prompts for a description of the required responses.
