8 - Line Up

Moves the cursor up one line.

Action

The Line Up command moves the cursor up one line.

If the cursor is currently located on the top line of the screen, the Line Up command causes the screen to scroll down. If the cursor is located on the top line of the item, this command is ignored.

On some terminals, the up arrow (↑) uses the same key as the numeral 8 on the numeric keypad. On others, the ↑ key is on a separate cursor control keypad. In either case, the ↑ key and the numeral 8 both have the same effect.
