SYSTEM Statement
Allows the states of various system parameters to be changed. An alternative to the ASSIGN statement.
Syntax
SYSTEM(parameter) = value
Syntax elements
parameter The number corresponding to the system parameter to be changed.
System parameters
Only the following system parameters can be changed:

| 5 | Current page number (numeric). | 
| 7 | Terminal type (numeric). | 
| 30 | Pagination in effect (numeric). | 
| 35 | Language in use (numeric). | 
| 37 | Thousands separator in use (string). | 
| 38 | Decimal separator in use: comma or period (string). | 
| 39 | Money sign in use (string). | 
| Sets the user-defined TCL logging string. If required, this can contain multiple values and subvalues. Note SYSTEM(109) can only set the complete TCL logging string. To change a single value or subvalue, read the current value with the SYSTEM(109) function, make your changes and then set the logging string to the new value. | 
Example
SYSTEM(5) = 12
Assigns the value 12 to system parameter 5, the current page number.
