RW_TEXT_AREA

Purpose

Creates a text box on a form. The user can type a nearly unlimited number of lines in the text box. When the form is submitted, all of these lines, separated by carriage returns/line feeds, are sent to the server using the name of the text box. Outputs directly to RealWeb's RWC.OUTBUF buffer.

Syntax

RW_TEXT_AREA(Name, Rows, Cols, Value, aClass)

Parameters

Name Name of the text box.

Rows, Cols These two parameters specify the dimensions of the text box.

Value Default text to be loaded into the text box.

aClass A dynamic arrayClosed A multi-element string variable in which data is divided into elements by attribute marks, value marks and subvalue marks, matching the structure of a Reality file item. The entire array is referenced and stored as a single variable. For more information, refer to the Reality DataBasic Reference Manual.  that can contain the following elements:

CLASS

The name of a tag class defined in a CSSClosed Cascading Style Sheet - a mechanism by which the presentation of an HTML page can be separated from the content. A style sheet can be used to determine the appearance of one or more HTML pages.  stylesheet.

ROWS

The height of the text box in characters.

COLS

The width of the text box in characters.

WRAP

Defines the type of text wrapping. Can be one of the following:

VIRTUAL
The text is wrapped within the text area for presentation to the user, but is transmitted to the server as if no wrapping had occurred, except where the user pressed the ENTER key.

PHYSICAL
The text is wrapped within the text area and transmitted to the server as if the user had actually typed it that way.

OFF (default)
The text does not wrap except where the user pressed the ENTER key.

Attributes defined in the aClass parameter are applied to the TEXTAREA tag.
