Syntax
DELETE-ACCOUNT {account-name} {(options}

D Suppresses detailed listing.
N Suppresses paging of output.
C Cleans up (removes) the deleted account's saved lists and catalogued items when prompted to confirm. This option has the same effect as the TIDYPF (R command.
Restrictions
SYSMAN account only.
Operation
This command first prompts for the name of the account to delete. On entry of a valid local account name, the process lists all of the files contained on the account and outputs the following prompt:
Do you still want to delete the account (Y/N)
The software checks to see if any users are currently logged on to the account from another port and informs you if there are. If there are still users logged-on running processes that reference the account, you cannot delete it. Message 2014 is displayed in this case.
If you answer Y
to the prompt, all of the files on the account are deleted, the MD is deleted, and the SYSTEM dictionary Account Definition Item is deleted. The system does not provide any additional message for verification that the account has been deleted.
Caution
Be careful not to delete any of the accounts or files that were included as part of the database when first created.
Do not delete an account that has GFEs. Call your local support representative for help in fixing the GFEs.
Note
Remote and synonym accounts can also be deleted using DELETE-ACCOUNT. An appropriate message is displayed in each case. Just the SYSTEM pointer is deleted - the D-pointer account is not changed.
