Miscellaneous Shadow Database Procedures

This topic contains a description of the procedure used to reverse the live/Shadow configuration of a Shadow Database pair, carried out from tlmenu's Miscellaneous menu.

Other miscellaneous procedures for administering Transaction Logging in a Shadow Database configuration are described in Miscellaneous Transaction Logging Procedures.

Overview

Additional procedures needed to administer Shadow Database, but which do not come under the general topics of Routine Maintenance, Configuration and Setup, or Database Recovery, are carried out from the tlmenu Miscellaneous menu, displayed by selecting option 4 on the main Administration Options menu. Refer to tlmenu for an overview.

Options 1 and 2 on the Miscellaneous menu which are used to administer Transaction Logging in a Shadow Database configuration are detailed in Miscellaneous Transaction Logging Procedures.

Option 3 which is used to swap the live/Shadow roles of the two databases in the Shadow Database configuration is described here.

Each procedure, started by selecting a sub-menu option, comprises a sequence of message prompts to guide you through the process. Refer to Replies to Prompts for a description of the required responses.
