English Macros
This topic describes macros and their uses. A macro is an extension to the English command language. When you define a macro item, you combine one or more elements to produce a new element, and you give this new element a name. When you want to invoke the element, you include the macro name in the English sentence.
A macro definition in English includes one or more clauses, generally in a dictionary item. When you use the macro name in a statement, English finds the item in the current dictionary and processes the clauses.
English macros can contain the following:
-
Complete English clauses.
-
One USING clause per macro.
-
Calls to other macros.
-
Comment lines.
-
Command options.
