M - Merge Lines
To merge lines from the current item or from another item.

The Merge Lines command allows you to merge lines from the current item or from an external item.
The merged text is inserted before the current line.
Line Numbers
When you invoke the Merge Lines command, the Status/Command Line prompts:
MERGE Beg line# - End line#:
Respond with one of the following:
n Merge single line, where n is the number of the line.
m-nMerge lines m to n, where m is the starting line number and n is the ending line number.
RETURNExit from the Merge Lines command.

The Status/Command Line prompts:
READ from (Return=current):
To merge from the current item, press RETURN.
To merge from an external item, type:
{file-specifier} item-id
file-specifier is optional. If no file is specified, the external item must be in the same file as the current item.
