MOUNT-IMAGE (MOUNTIMAGE.HTM)
Mounts a physical backup of a database and enables it to be accessed in read-only format.
MOUNT-IMAGE
MOUNT-IMAGE is only available in the SYSMAN account.
MOUNT-IMAGE may only be run by the database owner.
A physical save cannot be restored on a host with different byte ordering; for example, a
MOUNT-IMAGE does not support encrypted tape drives.
MOUNT-IMAGE does not support ‘raw mode’ saves.
Although MOUNT-IMAGE could be used with an actual tape drive, for performance reasons it is only useful to use it with tape images.
Note: When entering tape units/paths or account names, you can enter a comma-separated list up to the length of the input field to make entry faster.
Ensure that the tape is loaded and on-line, and you are logged on to SYSMAN.
Enter at the TCL prompt:
MOUNT-IMAGE
The following screen is displayed:

Leave options 1 and 2 unchanged or change them as required. (Default values come from the skeleton database, as created by mkdbase –m or realload –I commands.)
Add the tape drives required on line 3 - i.e. tape unit numbers or paths to the tape images. If using tape paths and the line overflows, press RETURN and then use option 3 to add another drive.
If you want any remote account (R-pointers) created, enter the account name(s) on line 4.
If you have made a mistake, use options 6 or 7 to delete any account or tape drive.
When you are ready, enter m to mount the image.
Enter x to exit the menu.
Create any Q-pointers required to access files in the remote accounts.
