Database Setup

If you wish, you can define actions to be carried out when the system daemons or services are started:

You can specify that each database should be checked to ensure that it was shut down properly and that the database start-up Proc, if any, should be run. To do this, add the path of each database to the file sysstart which you will find in the realman directory, and set the database's DbStart parameter. If you have enabled automatic database checking, this will also run realdbck to clean the database if necessary.
You can add commands to a host script that is run when the system daemons or services are started:
- On UNIX, the start-up script is a file called realcoldstart in the \etc directory.
- On Windows, the start-up script is a batch file called RealColdStart.bat in the %REALMAN% folder.
If you decide to add more commands to the start-up script, you should bear in mind that your Reality databases may not be available when it runs.
