AFS-HOLD

Suspends automatic file sizing for a specified data section or index.

Syntax

AFS-HOLD file-specifier {index-name}

Syntax Elements

file-specifier Specifies either the required data section or the data section containing the required index.

See General Conventions for the full syntax of file-specifier.

index-nameOptional. The name of the index for which automatic file sizing is to be suspended.

Restrictions

Can only be run by the database owner.

Comments

You can re-enable automatic file sizing with the AFS-ENABLE command.

Automatic file sizing can be suspended independently for a data section and its indexes.

A data section or index for which automatic file sizing has been suspended can be resized using the AFS-EXPAND and AFS-CONTRACT commands.
