Last Character of an Item

The last character of an item is always an attribute mark.

The Screen Editor will not let you delete that last attribute mark nor will it let you do anything to change it. Any attempt to change or delete the last attribute mark or any attempt to move the cursor beyond that mark results in the command being ignored and the terminal beeping at you.

You can, however, place the cursor on the attribute mark and enter Input Mode to enter additional text. Even though the cursor is placed on the attribute mark, Insert Mode allows insertion of data before the attribute mark.
