All Spooler files are ordinary Reality files and can therefore be subjected to Transaction Handling. The only exceptions are the PRINT.JOB.CONTROL and SPOOL.JOBS (or user-specified alternative) files. A print job cannot be rolled back using the TRANSABORT command.
Transaction Logging is a standard resilience feature. All Spooler files can be logged.
Caution
If Spooler files are set to be logged, Spooler activity should be prohibited while logging is stopped.
Logging of print jobs depends on the log status of the job file. If SPOOL.JOBS or a user-specified alternative file is marked to be logged, then all print data items in the job file and associated print job control items in PRINT.JOB.CONTROL are logged. If a job file is not marked for logging, then its resident print data items and associated PRINT.JOB.CONTROL items are not logged.
