LOGON Item

The LOGON item is used by the logon processor on a UNIX-based system.  It contains the logon prompt message and must be present in the SYSTEM dictionary to allow users to logon to a database.

Note: On Windows systems, the logon prompt is configured in the Windows registry.

The standard item installed with the database is as follows:

Item-id LOGON
  001 L (line feed)
  002 Hdatabase-name
  003 L (line feed)
004 HLogon Please:  + (Htext+, where + means “wait for input”.

The logon message can only be changed from SYSMAN or SYSPROG, or from another SYS2 level account that has update access to SYSTEM.
