System Requirements

This topic lists the host and client hardware and software components that are required for SQL/ODBC and SQL/JDBC for Reality.

Host

The following are required to use SQL for Reality:

Hardware

One of the following:

• A compatible UNIX platform.
• A PC with an Intel Pentium or equivalent processor.

Software

• Reality V9.0 or later.
• A compatible release of UNIX with a TCP transport stack and a compatible release of UNIX-Connect, as supplied with Reality.
  - or -
  A compatible release of Windows.

Client

SQL/ODBC

Hardware

• IBM PC or compatible.
• LAN card for PC.

Software

• Microsoft Windows (refer the Reality Release Information for details of supported versions).
• PCSNI 2.2 Rev C or later (32-bit).
• RealSQL Driver 2.2.0 (16-bit).
  - or -
  RealSQL Driver 2.3.0 (32-bit).
• Any ODBC compliant application or package; for example, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel or Visual Basic.
• A Winsock compliant TCP/IP transport stack.

SQL/JDBC

Hardware

Any system that supports a Java Virtual Machine – for example, UNIX or Windows.

Software

• A TCP/IP transport stack.
• Java Virtual Machine.
• RealSQL-JDBC Driver V1.0.
• JReal 2.0.3.
