Introduction to the Reality Environment
This topic describes the system accounts and files that are
included on a Reality database. It also contains an overview of the
administration tasks and facilities belonging within the Reality environment.
Administration functions, executed entirely from within Reality, include:
- Setting up and maintaining Reality user-ids and associated security profiles.
This is carried out using the
Security System Maintenance (SSM) utility.
- Setting up and maintaining accounts. These tasks use the commands CREATE-ACCOUNT,
DELETE-ACCOUNT, UPDATE-ACCOUNT and UPDATE-ALL-ACCOUNTS.
- Monitoring the database and maintaining log files and the lock systems. See
Administration from Reality for details.
The remainder of this section discusses the
system accounts
and files that comprise the standard parts of a Reality database.
