Latest Reality V15.0 UNIX Update Installation Info File ======================================================= Installation: ============= The file is delivered as a 'compressed' file to save download time and to verify after the download. Note: This file must be saved as: V15.1_recfixes_nnnn.tar.Z (upper case .Z - where nnnn is the update number) Once loaded onto the target machine use the UNIX 'uncompress V15_recfixes_nnnn.tar.Z' command to uncompress the file. The resulting file will be a UNIX tar file - also refer to -z option use below. This 'tar' file needs to be extracted to a directory, change directory using 'cd' to a suitable place to hold the multiple file contents of the extracted tar file and then use: 'tar -xvf full_path_name' to tar file' to extract its contents. For CentOS and other Linux versions that no longer have uncompress as standard but have the -z option use... ... 'tar -xvfz full_path_name'. Once the 'tar' file has been extracted you are then ready to proceed with the installation. Use root access to shutdown Reality with a killreal command - all users shuold be logged off. To load all updates, whilst logged in as the user 'realman' run: 'install_fix -a full_path_name' to directory-of-update-files as created above. This installs all of the updates, follow prompts, each needs a "y" to check each has loaded. ... you will be reminded to run DBUPDATE for each database in order to update system files. Or, individual updates can be loaded using: 'install_fix full_path_name' and specifying the required update file, i.e. the update number ===== Notes: ===== DBUPDATE MUST be run following loading updates.
