This fix resolves an issue on AIX 7.3 where daemon.log event notification emails were rejected due to improper line formatting. Email generation via real event has been updated to use CRLF (carriage return and line feed) delimiters, ensuring compatibility with the latest AIX mail requirements.

Resolved an issue with INSTALL_FIX on Linux where an unnecessary error message

was displayed during patch installation. The following message could appear even

though the patch completed successfully:

/usr/bin/ar: libuvic.a: file format not recognized

Patch installation now completes cleanly without displaying this message.

Resolved an issue with shared memory allocation that could cause SAVE-IMAGE to fail when executed multiple times. Previously, repeated runs could result in the following errors:

realdump: Shared memory allocation failed
RLDE_SHM_TOO_BIG: Cannot create shared memory - too big
[561] Image Save Failed.
SAVE-IMAGE FAILED

Following this fix, SAVE-IMAGE now runs reliably even when executed repeatedly. This fix applies to Windows systems.

Unix-Connect to be updated for new operating systems:

While installing Unix-Connect on the latest Linux OS version, multiple library-related failures were encountered. The installation scripts have been updated to correct the required library links and eliminate the need for manual intervention during the setup process.

Unix-Connect to support latest C compiler version on latest OS versions:

While installing Unix Connect on the latest Linux OS version, we encountered an issue with the stime() function, which is no longer supported in newer GCC versions (above G CC 10.5). The code has been updated to replace the use of stime() and ensure compatibility with the latest GCC versions.

The issue encountered while attempting to clear logs in Netadmin has been resolved.

Previously, selecting the clearlogs option under Session Manager Management resulted in permission errors.

Implemented necessary corrections, the system now properly validates user privileges. When attempting to perform restricted operations without root access, the following message is displayed:

Introduced a new command UNMOUNT-IMAGE to properly unmount images mounted using MOUNT-IMAGE. Previously, mounted images were often left active, and no command existed to unmount them. This enhancement provides improved management of mounted images and helps maintain a cleaner system environment.

Resolved an issue in ISTAT where very large files were not displaying complete statistics. After the fix, ISTAT correctly reports item counts, byte counts, frames in use, and other details for large files, ensuring accurate file statistics even for databases with tens of millions of records.

7z.dll and 7z.exe reported as a version 4 which is an obsolete version and requires updating. This fix updates the 7zip version from 4.4 to 26.0.

This enhancement resolves inconsistent RESTful behaviour noticed on the newer versions of windows.

Several DLLs were upgraded to their latest versions to ensure RESTful functionality remains compatible or consistent across different Windows environments, from older versions up to Windows Server 2025.

The existing TCL command ‘LIST-INDEXES /ACC’ will display indexes from the specific account ACC. LIST-DBASE-INDEXES is a new command introduced to run within the SYSMAN account and will display all indexes present across the database.

Enhancement - Input screen for the realityrc file to allow changes to the realityrc file from TCL and remove the requirement to use the Unix vi editor.

To simplify realityrc file configuration and management, a new verb RCEDIT has been introduced. A user-friendly input screen prompts for display, add or update, and removal of configurable settings in the $REALROOT/files/realityrc file.

To improve support and diagnostics, realityrc information is now included in the SYSINFO output. This provides deeper insight into the system configuration that will aid in resolving any issues more effectively.

A new verb DLOG is a cross-platform utility designed to help users easily view the contents of the daemon.log file from their Reality environment, without needing to use Unix-style commands.

Enhancement - Input screen for database config File.

To simplify database config file configuration and management, a new verb EDITDBCONFIG has been introduced. This will display a user-friendly input or display screen which enables the use of the Reality line editor or the Reality screen editor for amendment of the database config file.

Amendment has been made to the realstart utility. It aims to improve instance verification on Unix or Linux systems by ensuring that the correct Reality instances are initiated during start up.

If you are using English with a right justified dictionary item and the data is of the form A01, A001 then the data should be surrounded by square brackets, for example,

If the brackets are not included in the enquiry, then Reality will match A01, A001, A0001 as being matched to A01.

This is due to right justification changing the data into binary format where 00 is treated in the same way as 0, that is, A01 = A001

If the data is wholly numeric then the brackets may be omitted as in this case 1001 will NE 10001.
